SEMINAR & PHYSICAL WORKSHOP
with Lois Taylor (Dance Centred) & Anne Ekenes (Panta Rei Danseteater)
Question: "How to stay relevant as a creative artist in the area through political and economic changes."
A day where dance & conversation between artists living & working in Cornwall and Norway, converge into improvisation. A chance to reignite your passion for what you do, inspire your practice & find a free flow of ideas and movement. Facilitated & curated by Lois Taylor, independent dance artists & co-director of Dance Centred, & Anne Ekenes, CEO & Artistic Director of Panta Rei Danseteater.
Lois & Anne have many years of experience in the dance field, they will share insights into their artistic practice & how their projects Physical Postcards and Silence is a result of this.
Participants will share inspirations and responses to being a dance artist today, through vibrant facilitated discussion and an opportunity to move the body freely and explore spontaneous improvisation.
11.00am - 1.00pm Presentations, round-table discussions
13.45 - 15.15pm Physical Postcards Workshop - led by Lois Taylor
3.30pm - 5.00pm Group Physical Postcards & final reflections
Physical Postcards, Lois Taylor - Exploring Improvisation in Performance
Building on the Physical Postcards practice of sending messages from the body, the session will offer a delicious warm-up for the body. Through structured improvisation, we will then explore a call & response between our thoughts, our bodies & our observations of each other & texts written & offered, to find an open & free channel of in the moment improvisation. These events are always playful, unexpected & utterly unique.
